Type expressions the way they are written in the textbook and it evaluates them in the right order. Switch between degrees and radians without re-entering anything, and keep the tape open so the earlier results stay in view while you work.

How it was built
The brief was one line: a calculator, a nice one. The tape was the design decision, because a student's error is almost never in the arithmetic; it is in what went in. Degrees are handled by rewriting the angle before it reaches the engine, so the engine itself only ever sees radians and stays simple.
It runs entirely in your browser: no model call, no server, no cost, and no account. The keys, gaps and screen scale to the size of the box they are in, so it is usable on a phone in one hand and on a desktop without empty space.
