How Hey Homework uses AI
Last updated September 2, 2026.
You are talking to an AI, not a person. Every answer, hint, check, summary and voice conversation on Hey Homework is generated by artificial-intelligence models and is not reviewed by a human before you see it.
1. What that means for you
- AI can be confidently wrong. It can miss a step, misread a photo, or make up a fact. Check anything that matters against your textbook, your notes or your teacher.
- Answers are generated fresh each time and may differ between attempts or between users.
- Nothing on the Service is medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
2. The voice tutor
The language tutor and voice conversations are AI. If you ask it whether it is an AI, it will tell you. It is a study tool, not a companion, and it is not designed to provide emotional support. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency number or a crisis line in your country.
3. The models
We use models from third-party providers, currently OpenAI and, through OpenRouter, providers such as Anthropic, and we route simple questions to smaller models and harder problems to stronger ones. We do not use your content to train AI models unless you turn on a setting that allows it. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
4. Labels
Generated content on the Service is marked as AI-generated. If you copy it elsewhere, be honest about where it came from and follow your school's rules.
